The seven sins of style

Article written by Sid Solomon

Style changes according to our personalities and bodies. However, there are a few style sins that will always apply to everyone. Here are the seven sins of style.

Sin 1 – Dressing inappropriately – It is important that you dress according to the occasion. For example, it does not show respect to the bride and the groom if you arrive as a guest to their wedding wearing denim. Therefore be mindful of the occasion and when in doubt ask the host.

Sin 2- Quantity over quality – You may feel that you have accomplished a lot when you walk out of a store with bags of items that are cheap. However, you will save a lot if you spend money on quality pieces that will last you a few seasons.

Sin 3 – Being uncomfortable – If you find it hard to walk in a sky-high pair of heels or a dress that is a few inches too short, it is best to wear something else and feel comfortable.

Sins 4 – Following every trend – Do your research on a new trend, if you find yourself rushing to buy new fashion trends and then realizing that it doesn’t suit you.

Sin 5 – Wearing the wrong size – Avoid buying clothing that is a size or two too small or too big as it will only end up in the donation pile.

Sin 6 – Dressing without balance – It is a good rule to remember that if you are showing the upper half of your body, make sure your lower half is covered and vice verse. This will make balance your entire look.

Sin 7 – Showing up ungroomed – Outfits can look horrible if you have not shaved, show up with messy hair or makeup or your nails are chipped.
